Beschreibung

This research project deals with the simulation and experimental investigation of mobile air conditioning systems. The air conditioning system is the auxiliary aggregate with the highest fuel consumption in a passenger car and has a not negligible influence on the overall fuel consumption. Nevertheless, nowadays the air conditioning is not taken into consideration for the determination of the overall fuel consumption of a car within most of the statutory tests. But this will probably change and thus the need to reduce the energy consumption of the air conditioning will increase. Therefore one main objective of the project is the optimization of the refrigerant cycle und thus the reduction of the fuel consumption by means of numerical simulations and experimental investigations. The increasing variety of different car models and the reduced development time makes experimental investigations and optimization almost impossible. Because of this the simulation is getting more and more important. Therefore one aim of this project is to develop a verified simulation tool for the refrigerant cycle. Furthermore a robust process for the design of the a/c system will be developed.
