Abstract

Apart from electrification, automated driving has become a large area of research in the automotive industry. In contrast to the mature and stable state of the art development in automotive industry, the development of new automated driving functions implies the integration of completely new features. This brings great uncertainties into concept development, bearing the risk of delay during integration. In our work we present a best practice example for the development of an automated driving function concept. We show how the integration risk can be reduced by defining additional requirements for the single software components of the automated driving function to account for their interaction. We demonstrate the feasibility of our approach by applying it to the example of developing a driving function concept for a highly automated shuttle.
