Prof. Singh has served as a member of the Scientific Committee of Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, and also member of its various committees. His interactions helped to modernize Indian Pharmacopoeia in line with rise in Global quality assessment requirements. His contribution also spans to United States Pharmacopeia (USP), in way of publications in Pharmacopieal Forum, 15 , 21 delivery of invited lectures at USP annual meetings, and supply of material for 6 impurity standards to USP. He is a member of the Expert Advisory Panel on the International Pharmacopoeia and Pharmaceutical Preparations, and was part of team that finalized stability testing guidance issued by WHO in 2009 ( Fig. 3 ). He also acted as temporary advisor to WHO's Expert Committee Expert on Specifications for Pharmaceutical Preparations for multiple years. His landmark works on pharmaceutical stability, forced degradation, and stability-indicating method developments were timely and brought him very close to working group leaders of International Council for Harmonization of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH) ( Fig. 4 ). As an active and expert member, Prof Singh's persistent dialogues and engagement with the IDMA acted as a driving force to let industrial mindset and approach grow towards advanced and emerging paradigms, such as process analytical technology (PAT) applications and continuous pharmaceutical manufacturing. His role in convening training sessions under Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) and Special Commonwealth Assistance for Africa Program (SCAAP) sponsored by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India to Euro-African scientists resulted in skill development in stability science of hundreds of scientists and regulators from developing countries across the globe. He has been a frequent speaker on drug stability testing at National and International conferences ( Figs. 5 and 6 ) and is regularly invited to deliver talks even on other topics, resulting in ∼550 invited lectures.

N2 - This commentary presents contributions and accomplishments of Professor Saranjit Singh, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), SAS Nagar, India, to pharmaceutical research and education. Prof. Singh completed his successful tenure in October 2021. Over his 40+ years of illustrious academic career, he trained 147 Masters and 15 PhD students in the fields of drug stability testing, degradation chemistry, impurity and metabolite characterization, and advanced analytical technologies. He has published ∼250 research articles, reviews, editorials, patent, book, and book chapters, and received numerous awards, including the Professor M.L. Khorana Memorial Lecture Award from the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) and the Outstanding Analyst and Eminent Analyst awards from the Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association (IDMA). This commentary highlights Prof. Singh's inspiring personal and renowned professional journey, including early life, education, career, accomplishments, as well as his services to academia, industry, and regulatory. By sharing the contributions and accomplishments of Prof. Singh, we strongly believe that his story will inspire the next generation of scientists to continue his legacy to advance the field.
