Abstract

In companies, decisions are made every day. The preparation of data relevant to decision-making is increasingly carried out by means of IT support. However, the COVID-19 pandemic showed that unforeseeable events can put entire companies in an economically precarious situation. Business plans and Budgets that are prepared may lose their validity from time to time. The question arises as to how such situations can be dealt with in Business planning and whether artificial intelligence can make a contribution to preparing the basis for decisions under uncertainty. With a systematic literature review and descriptive qualitative analysis, the actual situation of research on the topic of decisions under uncertainty with the use of artificial intelligence in business planning is examined. The results show that many different approaches are being pursued with the
topic of uncertainty, such as artificial neural networks, machine learning-models, support vector machines or fuzzy logic. The paper helps decision-makers to better deal with the topic of uncertainty in the company by implementing suitable
approaches and taking into consideration globalization reflection and internationalization processes for business planning as important keys to further decisions. The results show that the research focused on forecasting data under uncertain situations such as customer demand uncertainty. It turns out that the logic of these algorithms could also be applied to other uncertainties such as crisis situations. Newer approaches deal with data generation through simulations, which are subsequently used for artificial intelligence and business within the impact of digitalization. The conclusions show that data based on business insights are entering companies under the influence of globalization processes and the use of artificial intelligence as a creative way for business intelligence and planning.
