Abstract
The range of applications for ultra-wideband (UWB) radar has been expanding in recent years. Detecting living objects, humans or animals, in a static environment is an interesting application. After a natural disaster, locating people under ruins is a life-saving application. However, the automotive sector has also found usage for UWB radars. Remind the driver of children or pets locked in car and left behind. Also observing the driver's vital function and alert the rescue in case of emergency is a major use-case. It is particularly challenging to detect infants in a car within a short period of time. Compared to adults, a lack of measurement data exists for infants. In this paper we present a statistical analysis of measurements inside a car with a baby dummy.
