Abstract

Exploring the principles of similitude within vibroacoustic coupled systems stands as a crucial endeavor in the realm of scientific research. Similitude, which delineates scaled relationships governing structural dynamics amidst the interplay of mechanical vibrations and acoustic waves, plays a pivotal role in predictive modeling and efficient design across a spectrum of applications. The inherent complexity of studying coupled vibroacoustic systems becomes particularly pronounced when complete similitude is not achieved, introducing challenges in predicting alterations in vibrational behavior. Understanding how vibrations evolve in systems departing from complete similitude becomes a complex task, especially when dealing with distorted models. The intricacy lies in deciphering the alterations in the relationship between the natural frequencies of decoupled systems within these distorted frameworks. This study delves into the realm of distorted similitude in coupled vibroacoustic systems, seeking to unravel the complexities that arise when the original models undergo geometric distortions. Predicting vibrational behavior necessitates a nuanced approach, and this research aims to shed light on the study of distorted similarity by isolating the acoustic model. The goal of this paper is to understand how geometrical distortions affect the overall performance of coupled vibroacoustic systems by investigating how natural frequencies and mode shapes change in geometrically distorted acoustic volumes.
