title = "Utilization of Liquid Crystal Based Reflectarray Antennas for Multipath-Assisted Localization",
abstract = "This paper presents an analysis of the impact of a highly directional antenna on a multipath-assisted localization system. In particular, a steered-beam reflectarray antenna based on Liquid Crystal technology is considered at 28 GHz. Additionally, a technique to simplify the control of the voltages applied to the elements of the array is proposed and compared with the case in which all elements can be controlled independently. The antenna with a discretized phase shift presents a gain of 25 dB and keeps a narrow beam in the scanning plane. Integrating this antenna in an existing localization system exhibits improved position error bounds under line-of-sight conditions.",
