Description
Battery operation in EVs under specific boundary conditions leads to a shorter battery life in terms of usable battery capacity and achievable mile range, as it is tightly connected to the occurring structural material degradation of the internal components (e.g., SEI-growth). The current talk will be focused on the evaluation the effect of the aforementioned battery material degradation on the safety behavior of commercially available lithium-ion pouch cells when subjected to external mechanical loads (e.g. car crash).
