Modelling of ADAS perception sensors: Challenges, solutions, applications and performance evaluation

Virtual safety validation has been proven as one of the most important development processes to cope with the dilemma of assessing a sheer infinite number of test cases in the required short development time. However, modelling of perception sensors is a delicate task that includes numerous challenges. In this talk we give an overview of methods presented in literature and how they are used along the development process. We discuss the aforementioned challenges and present recent solutions and applications from our research. Finally, we are giving an overview on methods how to assess the performance of virtual perception sensors.
