This contribution presents a comparative analysis between two modeling methodologies for a single-phase transformer: the finite element method and the lumped element method. Both models incorporate an energy-based hysteresis model to represent the magnetic core. Excitation inputs for both models are derived from measurements. The research evaluates each approach’s accuracy, computational complexity, and inherent limitations, providing comprehensive insights into their respective strengths and weaknesses.
