Thirty-four internationally well-known companies and six Austrian research institutions have started to collaborate in a Centre of Competence for Applied Electrochemistry in Wiener Neustadt, supported by the Austrian government and the province of Lower Austria. The Centre of Competence for Applied Electrochemistry offers more than forty high-quality work places. This centre combines basic and applied research with industrial know-how and experience to develop new methods and establish better products for the Austrian industry by focussing on the areas of surface technology (coatings by galvanic and electroless plating processes, corrosion protection), electrochemical energy storage and conversion (batteries, fuel cells) as well as environmental technology (recycling, waste water treatment).
