The University Library is an information and competence centre of TU Graz.
It supports researchers and teachers by providing material and information in printed and electronic form.
It strengthens its users' information literacy as part of education and further education and Lifelong Learning.
The University Library is a communication point and a place to study.
It is accessible to the general public.
Objectives
The University Library strives to use the latest methods and technologies to achieve its objectives:
<ul><li>optimizing access to academic information/material using technical and organizational measures;</li><li>documenting, making accessible and archiving research findings of the University;</li><li>long-term archiving of TU Graz publications;</li><li>digitizing, making accessible and archiving printed material, and</li><li>conducting bibliometric analyses.

The Archives is the academic, historical memory of TU Graz.
It sees itself as a service facility for the University and those interested from the general public.
The Archive gives information on issues regarding organization, institutes and people and the history of TU Graz since it was founded in 1811.
The <b>social goal</b> of the University Library and the Archive is <b>to preserve the cultural heritage in technology and natural sciences.</b>
