Research interests

Elisabeth Hobisch has studied Spanish and French Philology at the University of Graz and the Universidad de Extremadura, Spain. In two projects on the digital edition of the European Spectators at the University of Graz she has been responsible for the edition of the Spanish and the French periodicals and is currently working on a project evaluating the possibilities of distant reading methods for periodicals of the Enlightenment.

Her main areas of research are Spanish, Latin American and French Literature, 18th Century Press, Cultural Studies, Digital Humanities and Gender Studies.

In 2016 she was awarded the Award of Excellence of the Austrian Minister of Science, Investigation and Economy for her doctoral thesis on the letters in the Spanish Spectators. La forma epistolar en los espectadores españoles. Características y tipología de las cartas.
