Project Details
Description
This group deals with the scientific elucidation of structure-function relationships of NAD(P)H -dependent dehydrogenases /reductases by using kinetic investigations at the steady-state and pre-steady-state, site directed mutagenesis and phylogenetic techniques. Engineering of properties to improve the metabolic capabilities of dehydrogenases is studied. Examples are the yeast metabolism of xylose and bacterial mannitol metabolism.
