Project Details
Description
The group focuses on enzymes that make glycosidic bonds, glycosyltransferases and glycosidases. The enzymes are used for the synthesis of simple and complex (oligo)saccharides with potential use as physiologically active food ingredients (prebiotics) and in medicine. We aim at combining enzyme mechanism (and the modification therefor) with reaction engineering to obtain optimal process solutions. High-resolution techniques for carbohydrate analysis are used.
