Description

For many problems in aerodynamics full theoretical, analytical or numerical solutions are impossible. In such cases wind-tunnel investigations provide the only remedy to obtain more detailed knowledge about the interaction of a body and the flow moving around it. The main subjects within this research field are the development and testing of resources in automobile aerodynamics, scientific investigations concerning alpin winter-sports (downhill racing, ski-jumping), the determination of static and dynamic wind loads on buildings and the structural response to wind-induced excitation. Experimental investigations are accompanied by numerical simulations as far as possible.
