Project Details
Description
The modes of graphical representation of architecture have undergone a vast change since the turn of the century. From the drawing after the style of the Ecole de Beaux-Arts at the close of the 19th century, the architectural representation of the 20th century evolved to become the computer-generated image. An initial focus of our work will be on analysing the dense development structure of architectural drawing and its theoretical interconnection with visual arts. Against this backdrop, we will investigate traditional questions such as the aspect of the painterly and also the theoretical changes of the increasingly abstract drawing of avant-garde architects.
