ASYSII - SOFC APU System Development II

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The ASYSII project builds upon the results which were achieved within the previous ASYSI project. The limited life time of hydrocarbon operated fuel cell APUs is a massive hurdle that needs to be overcome for further successful developments. Therefore, the main focus of this project is to study the basic damage processes that occur when the SOFC system is operated with hydrocarbon based fuels. In parallel, extensive validation tests will be performed in order to develop a deeper understanding for environment and damage modes which influence the product operation. The main aim of this project is to increase the lifetime of hydrocarbon fuelled SOFC systems to more than 5000h.
