The main objective is to improve the interaction of various technologies and systems that together form a bigger energy and resource system and supply for example a building, an industrial site or an urban quarter with heat, cooling and electricity. This is achieved by developing supervisory controllers (often called energy management systems) aiming at an efficient interaction of the different technologies of an energy and/or resource system. Furthermore, the systems are analyzed for suitable interfaces for communi-cation with both lower-level (e.g. components and technologies) and higher-level instances (e.g. the transregional electricity grid).
