C3T1 - Simulation of passive acoustic properties of automotive turbochargers

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Target of this research project is the development of simulation models predicting the acoustic properties of turbochargers. Focus is the modelling of a single stage turbocharger on a SI engine as acoustic attenuator to predict noise characteristic at intake and exhaust piping, thereby neglecting impact sound and surface sound radiation. Passive acoustic properties and active sound phenomena (howling and whistling) will be measured on engine and component test rig and analysed with respect to influencing parameters."
