C4T2 - LEC - High Precision Tribology and Lube Oil Consumption Measurement Concepts

Implementation of high-precision tribology measurement including lube oil consumption measurement on internal combustion engines with focus on bearings and piston group in order to gain a holistic perspective and make way to improve the tribological key parameters of an engine. Therefore two key technologies will have to be developed in the course of this project: - Online measurement of temperature and pressure in bearings realized by thin film technology using a telemetry system for data transfer. - Online lube oil consumption measurement on internal combustion engines using a newly developed tracer substance.
