Project Details

Description

The Christian Doppler Laboratory for Materials Modelling and Simulation analyzes and models the structural evolution in advanced metallic materials during processing and in service. Thus the scientific group focuses on the following supplementing disciplines: - Materials processing, i.e. synthesis and solidification, forming, heat treatmend, joining and manufacturing as well as service - Physical microstructure modelling and numerical process simulation - Experimental process simulation and structural analyzes - Process and materials optimization The goal of the laboratory is to connect these disciplines in order to be able either to describe production chains of advanced materials and to examine the reciprocal effects between workpiece and tool. Integral process simulation and materials modelling of the process chain shall allow to predict product properties and in further consequence to optimize the individual process steps.
