Description

The annual consumption of energy per person has been on a steep upward course for decades. In the course of expanding the network of renewable energies, we need to deal with the challenges of a fluctuating energy supply. Hence, we require advanced possibilities to store energy. To increase both performance and safety of existing systems, so-called all-solid-state batteries are a promising concept currently under intense research and development. The heart of an all-solid-state battery is the electrolyte, which requires high ionic conductivity exceeding values of 1 mS/cm–1 to compete with currently used liquid systems.
