CRESTA2 - New Creep Resistant Stable Steel for USC Power Plant

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

This project targets the consolidation of know-how acquired in the CRESTA project for the development of a new generation of microstructurally stable Very High Chromium Martensitic Steels for Advanced Ultra-Super-Critical (A-USC) components. This will be done through extensive investigations on long term aged and crept specimens of the developed compositions and prototype tubular and welded components, as well as by improvements of the chemical composition of both steels. The Consortium would like to reach results targeting the EU standard requirements for approval industrial applications especially in A-USC Power Plants with steam operating temperature in the range 650-700°C.
