Project Details
Description
The primary objective is the further development of the method for measuring the oil consumption of internal combustion engines using deuterium as a tracer, which was investigated in the predecessor project C4T2.
This includes the following tasks for the years 2019 and 2020:
- Optimisation of the process for deuterating lubricating oil with regard to cost, duration and type of base oil used.
- Investigation of the long-term stability of the tracer
- Mathematical correction of detector cross-sensitivity with respect to N2, O2 and CO2
- Construction of a prototype
