DekarbWP - Decarbonisation of heating and cooling supply by means of absorption heat pumping systems

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

To provide heating and cooling in the most environmentally friendly and largely CO2-neutral way possible, the trend is emerging to combine different technologies such as renewable heat generators, absorption heat pumping systems (for heat and/or cold provision) and thermal storage. Inevitably, this often results in complex systems whose dimensioning and control represent a major challenge. In this project, methods are being developed that enable the optimal dimensioning and control of such systems with absorption heat pumping systems. As a result, these systems can be operated with high efficiency, low costs and minimal CO2 emissions, which should significantly support the decarbonisation of heating and cooling supply in Styria.
