Electrical Methods in Environmental Technique

Project: Research area

Project Details

Description

Neutral molecules or uncharged particles can be charged with a positive or negative excess charge adhering to medium by means of various electrical methods. These particles experience a dynamic effect in an electric field. The electric field can generate itself by charged particles or can be impressed from outside by an electrode arrangement. These effects have been succesfully applied in various working processes, e.g. flue gas purification by means of electrostatical precipitators and spraying of laquer or in chemical plant protection. The aim of investigations is to improve practicable applications and to develop new fields of application by using electrical methods.
