EU - SOPHIA - Securing Software against Physical Attacks

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Goal is to establish the scientific foundation for executing software securely and efficiently in the presence of physical attacks on all kinds of devices of our ubiquitous computing environment. We aim at replacing current best-practice methods by scalable and efficient methods in hardware and software that allow securing critical parts of the software of a system against physical attacks without affecting or trusting the rest of the system. Our vision is that it should for example be possible to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of a variable that is part of a Linux application running on a processor that is attacked physically.
