Functional Meaning of Event-Related Desynchronisation (ERD) and -Synchronisation (ERS).

    Project: Research project

    Project Details

    Description

EEG-event-related desynchronization (ERD) is an electro-physiological correlate of active cortical networks, and the event-related synchronization (ERS) below 30 Hz can be interpreted as a correlate of a deactivated cortical network. The quantification of ERD/ERS in time and space gives way to the study of the dynamics of cortical activation with a time resolution in the millisecond range.
