Project Details

Description

Age estimation of children and young adolescents is an important topic in both clinical and forensic medicine. Clinical interest traditionally focuses on applications in endocrinology and orthopedics for treatment and surgical intervention planning in children with growth disorders. Together with modern medical image analysis techniques, a fully automated, radiation free age estimation procedure is possible using Magnetic Resonce Tomography data, promising objective, repeatable results and improved estimation accuracy, which determines the project hypothesis of FAME.
