    Project Details

    Description

Bulk solids like sand, grain, gravel or fine powders have to be transported in various industrial and agricultural processes. One of the most frequently methods to transport these materials is pneumatic conveying - the solid material is conveyed through closed pipelines by means of a gas-solids flow, which exhibits several possible flow regimes. For flow control and flow monitoring, but also for billing purposes, it is essential to know the material velocity, the material concentration, and the mass flow through the pipe cross-section. The aim of the project Industrial Flowmeter for Pneumatically Conveyed Bulk Solids is to develop a non-invasive, industrial prototype sensor for the determination of material velocity and concentration and furthermore of the material mass flow of bulk solids.
