GAZELE - Generation of radar echoes for automotive applications based on synthetic scenarios

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

A system shall be developed which is capable of modelling the changes which occur as Radarwaves propagate through a given automotive traffic scenario. This result is then used to drive a hardware unit with sophisticated analog processing in such a way that the Radarwaves which are sent out by a automotive Radar sensor are changed in such a way that the returning echo resembles the desired echo to the desired degree. The system consists of a simulation environment in which the test scenarios are executed (CarMaker), a Radar propagation simulation (Matlab,OptiX,CST-Studio), a signal generation which generates the required signals to drive the analog signal processing unit and the analog signal processing unit which realizes the desired changes (delay, amplitude, Doppler frequency shift) in the Radar signal.
