High-Voltage Measurement Technique

The analysis of partial discharges and their characteristics, like the impulse shape and frequency content, their phase shift, their magnitude and the number of discharges, is an essential diagnostic tool for all high voltage systems. Several new aspects for qualifying a partial discharge measurement system are made in IEC. These investigations include the performance check of analogue and digital measurement systems using different kind of impulse shapes and different charges. International comparison in this field gives comparable results of the quality of the measurement circuit and their evaluation.
