HQ-AutoMat - High-quality manufacturing of pre-material for automotive components

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Goal of the Present Project is the support of high quality production of galvanized 3rd generation AHSS strips and Q&T rod material for automotive applications in accordance with the Green Deal and requirements for a successful Twin Transition using innovative IC-MPPE and digitalization methods. Sub-goals of the Present Project are (1) a numerical tool to estimate homogeneity of austenitization (temperature + austenite formation) due to inductive heating and first insights in zinc layer formation on inductively treated strips, (2) a guideline for a new coating for zinc bath sink rolls that achieve high wear resistance, withstand zinc corrosion and reduce the rate of dross build-up and (3) new physics-based correlations between microstructure (microstructural features) and magnetic properties as a basis for future inline quality management and process control methods.
