Project Details

Description

The polymer electrolyte fuel cell (PEFC) is being developed worldwide to provide sustainable, environmentally friendly and efficient energy delivery. As a drive concept for electric vehicles, the PEFC is already in the process of large-scale market launch. For the mass production of PEFCs, however, the further reduction of system costs and the construction of production infrastructures are necessary. A significant contribution to the cost reduction must be achieved at the heart of the fuel cell, the membrane electrode assembly (MEA) and the bipolar plates. For this purpose, innovative production methods for the production of fuel cells with high power densities are analyzed and developed.
