Project Details

Description

The substitution of old, fossil-fired heating boilers with new, innovative fuel-driven heat pumps as e.g. gas-fired absorption heat pumps is showing an enormous CO2-reduction potential especially when it comes to retrofitting. IEA HPP Annex 43 is aiming at overcoming market barriers in order to enable a broad market penetration of these environmentally friendly systems. The state-of-technology and research will be collected, the CO2-reduction potentials of heating various building types will be investigated via simulation and a field monitoring of a heat pump system will be conducted. In addition, a market report including the market barriers for gas-fired AHPs in Austria will be carried out and a list of market supporting measures will be compiled. The results will be communicated at international expert meetings and will be distributed to the Austrian stakeholders.
