IMAGINE - Innovative measures to smooth out peaks in demand and efficient use of capacity

Pronounced traffic peaks are not to be welcomed for economic or environmental reasons. If traffic demand can be handled well during traffic peaks, overcapacity will result. In case of capacity bottlenecks, congestion occurs. In this study, possibilities are developed to reduce capacity bottlenecks in the Austrian central areas by smoothing the peaks. By improving the traffic situation, positive economic and ecological effects are to be achieved as well as quality improvements for the users of the transport system.
