KässComp2023 - Greenfield Composites

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

The production at the site in Micheldorf (currently in 2-shift operation) is already reaching its capacity limits. In addition, the current site has infrastructure disadvantages (e.g., unfavorably located ramps). Irrespective of a planned increase in capacity, high investments would be required to renew the infrastructure at the location in Micheldorf. To support a strategic decision making (e.g.: new building, restructuring of the current site,...) the future production system should be planned in the sense of a greenfield planning (without consideration of boundary conditions such as existing building structures) In the context of a "greenfield" factory planning, the future production is to be designed according to demand. Accordingly, the future production scheme (standardized processes and framework conditions) is worked out on the basis of an extensive data collection & as-is analysis, the necessary resources (areas, employees, technologies) are dimensioned and the work areas required for production are structured in terms of material flow optimization in the sense of layout planning. In addition to the primarily required production areas, ancillary areas (administration, site logistics, etc.) are also to be transferred to a site structure concept.
