KartSmart Studie - Criteria Catalogue for Determining the Potentials of Cardboard as Building Material

Idea and Vision of the KartSmart Study: The Institute of Architecture Technology intends to gain in-depth insights into the state of the art and the state of knowledge for the long-term research of a lightweight cardboard wall system as a new economic-ecological alternative to the drywall systems currently used in interior design. The study aims at a well-founded depiction of the innovation content and the associated risks related to a future research project. Focus: Sustainability, recyclability, energy optimization, the reduction of grey energy and the use of cost-effective materials in construction.
