Description
Many materials have significant damping properties. The modeling of these damping effects in macroscopic constitutive equations is considered in form of viscoelastic and poroelastic material models. Further, the micromechanical effects causing macroscopic damping are explored and techniques for the homogenisation process are developed. Also, the influence of damping on, e.g., the acoustical behavior of porous structures are under study.
