Project Details

Description

Technically relevant structural high-performance materials, such such as HSLA-steels or Nickel-base alloys owe their superior mechanical properties to specific microstructural features, provided by extremely small grain sizes or a fine dispersion of second phase particles, such as precipitates. The improvement of these microstructural features require a deep understanding of the principle mechanisms which contol and determine materials properties. Therefore the theoretical description of precipitation kinetics is essential which is the goal of this project.
