Nanoscale and porous materials with electrochemically controlled properties

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

This project aims at the tuning of the physical properties (optical, electronic, magnetic) of nanocrystalline metals by electrical field-induced modifications of the charge carrier density in the interface region. The idea is to combine the approaches of inducing a space-charge region by a tuneable applied voltage and of using nanoscale microstructures with a large interface-to-volume ratio to maximise the fraction of the space-charge layers.
