Novel Functionalized biodegradable polymers of lactic acid for biocomposite preparation

The aim of the proposed bilateral project is about novel procedures of chemical modifications of PLA to improve resulting interactions between polymer matrix and fillers by means of affinity enhancement of the components. Furthermore, the crucial attention will be paid also to improving of the biological interactions between new biocomposites in the environment. . The outputs will be new information about possibilities of chemical modifications PLA matrixes and interactions with selected fillers. Another objective of this project is the establishing and further extending of international cooperation between the Austrian and Czech research institutions. The Austrian research team is stationed at the Technical University in Graz (TU Graz), while the Czech research team is represented through the Tomas Bata University in Zlin (TBU Zln).
