Description

Investigations on the mechanical behaviour of devices used in electrical machines require the accurate computation of acting volume force densities inside conducting regions and surface force densities at the material boundaries. Thereby, saturation effects due to higher electrical currents arise in particular at the existing iron boundaries in an enormous scale. The research activity investigates a numerical implementation for the computation of surface force densities in finite element calculations with the application of two surface layers situated at both sides of the considered material boundary.
