OPEDLCM - Simulation and optimization methods for highly utilized electrical machines

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

When the components of an electric vehicle's powertrain are optimized independently of each other, they are not necessarily optimally designed with respect to the entire drive train system. In this work package, the drive train consisting of inverter, electric machine and gearbox should be optimized as a complete system. Due to the large number of optimization variables, methods are developed to reduce the simulation time. On the one hand, this can be done using surrogate models, which allow much faster calculation, and on the other hand through intelligent combination of optimal partial solutions to an overall system optimization.
