    Project Details

    Description

The objective of the project is to investigate new optical technologies for reliable high capacity feeder links using free space optical communication through the atmosphere. As taken from ESA Work Statement, the objective of the study is to investigate new optical technologies and techniques that have the potential to mitigate the propagation impairments caused by atmospheric effects, with the aim of improving the performance and the reliability of high data rate optical communication links through the atmosphere (i.e., communication feeder links between terrestrial gateways and GEO telecom satellites for future data relay and broadband access multimedia applications). The project was extended for 4 months.
