Project Details

Description

For the experimental investigation of subsonic and transonic flows in turbomachinery as well as for vibration analysis, different optical methods have been established at the Institute for Thermal Turbomachinery and Machine Dynamics to support experimental data acquisition using non-intrusive laser-optical methods. For flow visualisation these are: Laser Light Sheet Visualisation and Colour Schlieren Visualisation. For quantitative flow analysis using tracer particles: Laser Doppler Velocimetry, Phase Doppler Anemometry, Particle Image Velocimetry. For quantitative flow analysis using refractive index: Holographic Interferometry, Differential Interferometry, Mach-Zehnder interferometer. For vibration and flow analysis: Holographic Interferometry, Laser Vibrometry. For thermal analysis: Infrared thermographic system, Thermochromic liquid cristal.
