Piezo motor

Piezo motors will be investigated in cooperation with an industrial partner. The intention of this activity is to identify possible applications, wherever it makes sense to use piezo motors. The term piezo motor describes a drivetrain, which is based on piezo ceramic elements. These elements are controlled by electrical potentials whereas common engines work by magnetic fields. Because of different technologies, there are different market profiles. Hence, the definition of specification criteria is of special interest to compare these technologies. The task includes theoretical and experimental topics.
