Power Quality and Network Disturbances

Project: Research project

Project Details

Description

Low frequency network disturbances are investigated and are one of the main focuses of the department for electrical power systems. Measurement procedures according to new international standardisation are developed. In the last years voltage dips and voltage interruptions have been especially important to the industrial consumers and their occurrence and countermeasures are evaluated under technical and economical aspects. Programming tools allow us to predict the disturbance behaviour for a whole grid or a singular costumer. The results, when compared to the experiences in real operation, show very good predictability of these statistical phenomena. It is planned, to integrate this knowledge into existing power grid calculation programs. not assigned KP: diverse Industrie- und Gewerbebetriebe, EU, World
