Project Details
Description
Procedural modeling allows reuse and recombination of individual rules that generate different features of a model. Rule reuse carries significant advantages in the shape design process because it dramatically reduces the time required to explore variations of similar designs. Free-form surfaces are currently outside the scope of procedural modeling. The aim of this research is to explore ways in which procedural modeling can be applied to free-form surfaces in order to harvest the advantages presented by a rule-based surface design approach.
